Conditions for warranty

• Assembly and installation has to be done by a approved installer or heating engineer in compliance with the HDG Assembly and Operation Instructions
• Compliance with planning policies as well as national and European legal provisions and standards shall be guaranteed
• The warranty period begins on the day of  commissioning, but not later than 2 months after the date the goods have been dispatched by HDG
• The 10/5 year warranty can be ordered up to 3 months after the date the boiler has been commissioned
• The 5-year warranty ends after 10,000 operating hours, however at the latest after 5 years
• The 5-year warranty covers all parts in the limits of the boiler, the feeding system (stoker and rotary sluice) and heat exchanger, electronic components as well as other moving parts, except for fuel transport systems (e.g. HDG FRA, HDG GRA, HDG HES,…), except for wear and tear parts and consumables
• The 10-year warranty covers the welded construction of the boiler (pressure vessel)  against leakages and ends after 10 years or 20,000 operating hours, whatever occurs first
• The 10 year warranty on the welded construction and 5-year warranty on all other parts except for fuel transport systems, wear and tear parts and consumables covers the cost of parts. Costs for labour and shipping are excluded
• The extended warranty is valid as soon as the fee for the extended warranty has been paid and has been confirmed in writing by HDG. As the extended warranty is a voluntary offer with costs by HDG there is no legal claim possible without confirmation in writing by HDG
• Commissioning of boilers only by specially trained and authorized service engineers
• A regular maintenance as per HDG Instructions and a revision every 2,000 operating hours, but at least once per year by HDG trained personal, is mandatory for every HDG boiler
• In addition to the annual maintenance the operator has to follow the maintenance and cleaning instructions as per operating instructions
• Installation, commissioning and annual maintenance have to be documented in the Cleaning and Maintenance Log
• In case of warranty claims the Cleaning and Maintenance Log and the boiler serial number have to be copied to HDG for registration
• Any additional maintenance or repair work on boilers shall be documented separately and the report transmitted to HDG for processing the warranty claims
• Faulty or broken parts under warranty shall be stored at the service engineers base for a period of 5 weeks and a report including photographs has to be forwarded to HDG (requirement for warranty claim). HDG reserves its right to ask for forwarding parts replaced on warranty to HDG
• Any labour (e.g. for commissioning, maintenance, repair or trouble shooting, replacement, etc.) is carried out by the HDG partner at his own expense

Excluded from the warranty are, e.g.:

• Damages as result of lack of water, overcurrent, power failure, frost, fire, acts of God, vandalism, misuse, operator error, lack of fuel, fuel characteristics deviating to HDG fuel recommendations listed in the actual operation instructions (e.g. non-natural wood fuel) corrosion caused by open vented systems, and non-diffusion-resistant pipework
• Fuel conveyors, fuel storage or transport systems, articles of trade (e.g. pumps, mixing valves) not compulsory supplied by HDG and all options out of the limits of the main components, the boiler and the feeding system HDG TBZ80/90 or HDG TBZ150 or other
• Normal wear and tear (normal, natural wear of refractory linings, minor abrasion of surface, wear on edges, cracks, etc., which do not lead to malfunction)
• Wear and tear parts and consumables as grates, cast iron parts for grates or burners, refractory baffles, fire bricks and refractory concretes, springs, knives, cleaning brushes, bearings, oil and fuses
• Damages by deposit of boiler scale due to lack of water treatment
• Damages by air pollution such as strong dust, aggressive vapors
• Damages by installation in unsuitable areas (e.g. aggressive contents in the combustion air)
• Damages from continued use despite occurrence of a defect
• Damages which do not have an impact on the usability
